Dedication, discipline critical thinking and passion are all elements of a good singer. As an educator, it is my job to guide the singing student to explore these elements and to communicate freely the ideas in which they are singing. As a vocal instructor, I strive to find each student’s vocal uniqueness and carefully develop it through firm vocal techniques that will last over the student’s singing career. The foundation that is laid in the first two years in breath management, diction, movement and musically is crucial. These elements all work together to empower the singer to perform with ease. In turn, it creates an opportunity for the instructor and student to explore the musical theater vocal styles, including legit, mix, and belt.
