Although Kitty’s professional work in the arts has been in the theatre, performing in both classical and contemporary works in the south and mid-west, her love of the arts has increasingly extended into the visual arts. Her first experience with Florida School of the Arts was as a workshop presenter, then as a guest artist, performing the role of Emily Dickinson in the one-woman show, The Belle of Amherst. She returned in 2008 to play Eliza Gant, the mother in Look Homeward, Angel. She loved her experience performing with the students, and was eager to apply for—and then excited to receive—the position of Admissions Specialist when it opened up in 2011. She loves talking with potential students about the opportunities available at Florida School of the Arts in both the visual and performing arts. Since taking the job, she has become an avid keeper of sketchbooks, often drawing from life as current students audition for the shows on our Season of Events.
