From the link at the bottom of this page, fill out the application. Please be aware that there is a link on the site for first-time applicants. Once you have created a login and password, you may use them again to log into to your application repeatedly allowing for multiple sessions until you are ready to submit it. Be advised that in the application you are asked to select an audition/portfolio review date. Be careful to select a date that is appropriate to your chosen start date. For instance, if you are attempting to start in the Spring semester, a February audition date will be too late. And finally, we highly recommend using Firefox or Safari browsers for the application process (do not use Internet Explorer).
Write a resume of your artistic endeavors listing art classes and activities in which you have been involved and their dates. If you are self-taught, please indicate that.

It is always recommended that candidates come to the campus for a face to face interview. However, when distances are too great or schedules don’t allow for travel to the school on the specific dates, it is also possible to apply with an electronic portfolio or video audition. There are, for instance, service websites like ZeeMee.com and others that allow students to upload material for review. You may also have a website to showcase your work. These options are acceptable. If you are attaching portable media (CD-Roms, DVDs, or flash drives) to a physical file that is mailed to us, be sure that the quality of photographs, audio files or video are good without being too large. If you would like to submit an electronic portfolio or video audition, please contact Kitty Clarke at kittyclarke@sjrstate.edu for instructions.
